Project Cases | halumm assisted the "Hangzhou Geriatric Hospital" and won the Zhejiang Provincial Award

2024-01-19

The United Nations pointed out that hospice care is a basic human right, and citizens' access to hospice services is a sign of the progress of civilization in a country and society. In 2014, the World Health Assembly identified the quality of death as one of the human rights that cannot be ignored, and 194 countries have committed to making palliative care a priority for their health systems.

In traditional Chinese cultural values, "Five Blessings" is the most sincere blessing to a person. "Shangshu Hongfan": "Five blessings: one is longevity, two is wealth, three is Kangning, four is good virtue, and five is life. The Five Blessings are what we usually understand as "longevity, abundance, well-being, virtue, and good death." "Good death" means to be able to know in advance and pass away peacefully. Palliative care is the new life concept that can best embody the "good death".

Recently, the Office of the Zhejiang Provincial Health Commission, together with the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Finance, announced the list of the first batch of 20 "standardized palliative care wards", and the "Hangzhou Geriatric Hospital" (Chengbei Branch of Hangzhou First People's Hospital) participated in the construction by halumm Construction Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as halumm) became the first batch of "standardized palliative care wards" in Zhejiang Province.

What is palliative care?

Palliative care refers to the practice of terminally ill patients and their families in a multidisciplinary collaborative mode, providing patients with physical, psychological, social, spiritual care and humanistic care and other services, controlling patients' pain and discomfort symptoms, improving the quality of life, and helping patients die comfortably, peacefully and with dignity.

The palliative care ward is to soothe the psychological unrest of patients and their families, make medicine more warm, and make life more dignified through love, forgiveness, thanks, farewell, and the "four ways and four alls" nursing concept and service of the whole person, the whole family, the whole process, and the whole team.

In order to improve the high-quality construction and service capabilities of the "medical and health care industry", broaden the channels of international cooperation, and absorb outstanding scientific and technological achievements at home and abroad, halumm organized experts to Japan and other countries to conduct in-depth field investigations of overseas practical cases in the field of medical and health care.
